THE EXHIBITION OF LVIV ARTISTS IN UZHHOROD OPENS THE SERIES “GENESIS”
Date pub: 31.05.2017 16:58

On 20 March, in Uzhhorod, in the atrium of the Regional State Administration it was started a large-scale art project with exhibition “Genesis”. It provides for carrying out of the series of exhibitions of leading artists from all regions of Ukraine as well as Ukrainian artists of neighbouring countries within two years. The organizers of the project are Regional Department of Culture, Charity Foundation Art Commonwealth "Today", European Congress of Ukrainians, Consulates General of Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Poland.

The first in the series "Genesis" were the artists of neighbouring Lviv region who in recent years for various reasons were not the frequent visitors of Uzhhorod. Therefore, Transcarpathians and guests of the land have an opportunity to see something different from traditionally exhibited art content.

Generally, the exposition doesn`t demand any special comments. 26 authors presented a variety of art approaches, techniques, as should be at an exhibition. Perhaps, there is rather small space for works in the atrium, which is not really adapted for exhibitions, but each work is so expressive that all the rest fades into the background. It is the very reason for the list of authors to be mentioned in any order, but the alphabetic one is the most convenient. These are such artists as A. Atoian, A. Bereza, V. Bohuslavskyi, L. Bohuslavska, B. Buriak, S. Hai, L. Davydenko, M. Demtsiu, N. Zastavna, O. Zvir, O. Krokhmaliuk, S. Mikhnovskyi, I. Ostafiichuk, I. Palii, I. Protsiv, V. Protsiv, O. Protsiv, N. Pukhinda, S. Savchenko, P. Sypniak, P. Smetana, R. Spalynskyi, M. Stupinskyi, V. Tryntsolyn, I. Turetskyi, O. Fedoruk, R. Yatsiv.

Each viewer will receive his pleasure from meditative or explosive painting, from abstracted or realistic compositions, from unexpected metaphors, poetic scenes or constructive force, and all this is just a high level of conception and implementation.

"IN MEMORIAM" EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE 80th ANNIVERSARY OF FERENTS SEMAN WAS OPENED IN UZHHOROD
Date pub: 31.05.2017 16:27

The “In memoriam” exhibition of the works of cult Transcarpathian avant-gardist Ferents Seman (1937–2004) is dedicated to the artist`s 80th anniversary, celebrated, unfortunately, without the artist by his numerous admirers. The opening was held on the 17th March. Paintings of the unforgettable Öcsi adorned again the walls of the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum named after Y. Bokshai. It doesn`t happen often that the statement that the artist`s soul flows, emanates from his pictures is so evident. You cross the halls and involuntary smile appears on your face, it seems you hear the voice of the artist and see the deep warmth of his eyes. Here he is, Seman, he did not disappear, and he is communicating with us by means of his art – the best means of communication he ever used.

We recognize the works on the walls – the world trends interpreted in his own way – the Seman cubism, abstractionism and simply Seman, Seman, Seman: self-portraits, flowers, compositions. And moreover you feel the spirit of freedom and independence flowing from the walls, and the spirit of artistry and recusancy. And also the feeling of exalted enchantment, spontaneous lightness, and grotesque irony. The exhibition was natural enough supplemented with photo-collage from the artistic youth of Ferents and his friends Attila Dunchak and Atanas Fedynets. Laid out in the show-cases were the albums, booklets and numerous publications about the artist.

The exposition, represented in general more than 50 artist’s works, will run until the end of March 2017.

Date pub: 18.05.2017 12:40

Personal exhibition of the People`s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Skakandii called “Picturesque Uzhhorod in watercolours” was opened at the regional centre of Transcarpathia at art show “Art-Pro”. The exposition of the Transcarpathian outstanding graphic artist and painter, laureate of the Regional Prize named after Y. Bokshai and A. Erdeli is represented by a series of two dozen watercolours, painted mostly within the past two years. The picturesque parts of the city over the Uzh river are depicted on the small-sized sheets in colourful and unique author`s manner. Perhaps that is why the works were not signed. Surely everyone who lives in Uzhhorod or frequently visit the city can easily recognize the places vividly captured by the artist in his beautiful watercolours. The exhibition will run until 15 February 2017.
