Kontratovych Ernest
Was born on May 17, 1912 in the village of Kalna Roztoka, Velyky Berezny, Transcarpathia.
In 1928-1932 he studied at Y.Bokshay and A.Erdely Public School of Painting in Uzhhorod.
In 1932 he graduated the Teacher’s Training College in Uzhhorod.
He is one of the Transcarpathian school of painting founders.
A member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists since 1946.
People’s Artist of Ukraine (1991).
